Funeral Undertaker

Funeral undertaking has always been part and parcel of the work of the country joiner and, as in most trades, it has changed over the years to suit the changing needs of society.

Whereas in the past, when the deceased remained at home until the time of the funeral, changing lifestyles dictate that this is no longer the norm, and to serve this need, rest rooms were provided at Kirkstyle a number of years ago.

These were recently upgraded and provide a homely place where families can come and spend time with their loved ones.

Duncan A Downie has worked in the business for more than fifty years.

He is now ably assisted by his wife Alice, and between them they can fulfil all a family's needs at times of bereavement in a friendly and couthy manner.
